How big does our faith have to be?

Have you ever felt like your payers were going unheard? No matter how long, how hard you prayed, there just didn't seem to be any answers coming....
I went through a time like that...holding onto the promise that if my faith was the size of a mustard seed God could use it... yet, month after month no answer to when the much needed aneurism surgery would be done, one thing after another delayed the surgery...
Then one day Butch and I were shopping and I happened to glance up at him and he was holding his hand over his chest. I asked are you ok? He answered I don't think so... There was no teasing in his eyes this time when he answered. Should we go for a short ride? His reply was I think so. We immediately left the store, got into the car and I drove us to St Joseph's ER.
Upon arrival, there was no waiting; as we were ushered right back and the Dr's began an assessment. Butch's blood pressure upon admittance was 220/110. This was very unusual for him. It is normally 105/58. Quickly they began to give him medication to lower his blood pressure and several tests were run to find the cause. He had not had a heart attack. The next 19 days were a whirl wind of testing, family coming in from out of state, lengthy open heart surgery, complications, the need to have a procedure to stop his heart and restart it. Finally, the day came when he could go home.
Before we left, Dr Nasser said; "God was really watching over you Butch. I believe this with all my heart. First, under normal circumstances an aneurism the size of yours normally ruptures when blood pressure becomes as high as your was when you went into the ER. Second, If I had repaired the aneurism in your abdomen on the day the surgery was scheduled, you simply would not have made it. I would have lost you. You had no signs except that vague tiredness that your heart was so blocked. Yes, God is really watching out for you."
Now I understood the why of no answer for so long. Now as Butch awaits his aneurism surgery in a couple of weeks I am confident that God does hear and answer my prayers. It is in His time, after all the loose ends have been cleared up. God answered in a way that I never imagined. We are so blessed and so thankful for His love and protection.
